November already?
Hey Firecrackers!
It’s November, you know what that means! Halloween decorations are being boxed up again, and out come all the cheery and joyful Christmas decorations! It’s a pleasant switch, but I do have to say that I love Halloween way more. I don’t know, it’s just something about the monsters, legends and scary energy; vampires, witches, things of mythical and eerie descent- it’s very exciting! I can’t quite answer why I love Halloween so much, I just do and I always have. It could be because of the films- I love 80s/90s slasher flicks. Halloween is obviously my favourite, but now because of the new Chucky tv adaptation, he might be a close second favourite villain. Though nothing does beat the cuteness of a cartoon reindeer. Haha, I digress!
With the switch of the holidays also comes the switch of the seasons and weather. Days get shorter, nights get colder; there’s snow and rain falling more than we’d like, and moods can change. That being said, some of these changes are good. Colder weather = nights inside under a blanket with a hot drink around the people you love. Nights spent like that do something to me- they make me feel all warm and happy, even though it’s freezing and a bit grey outside. Things calm down just as we wrap up the rest of the year. Christmas is around the corner, so we also have shopping to do and dinners to plan. Here I am yapping about Christmas, but we also have New Years- 2022! What a year it’s been. Slightly better than 2020, but here’s hoping 2022 is full of pleasant surprises. Even 2 would be nice, I’m not picky.
Do you like the holiday season?
To some people, it’s the best time- actually, the greatest time of year! To others, they couldn’t care less for whatever reason. Maybe it’s because they find it’s more of a money grab fuelling capitalism with the real meaning of the holiday being shoved away. I’m kinda like that person, but I still do have that holiday spirit waiting to come out. If I had it my way, gifts wouldn’t even be a thing at all for Christmas! I’d have quality time with those you love and good food be the tradition, not spending thousands of dollars on too many people. Like come on, we know most of the gifts we give won’t be unwrapped, or they’ll be re-gifted. You know what won’t? Happy holiday memories.
Oh yea, and Christmas music! For holiday tunes I usually listen to Mariah Carey, Frank Sinatra, WHAM!- Bing Crosby when he’s on the radio. Who’s in your Christmas playlist?
I’ll wrap it up about Christmas for now, but next month’s blog will be even more festive! Now, what’s new in Firecracker world this month? The Script Department is having their LAST reading of 2021 on November 14. YES! You read that correctly. November 14 is the last script reading of the year! Make sure to check the Facebook group AND our website to stay on top of that for when more details are released. Stay tuned for some exciting changes with the Script Department in 2022!
Well, that’s November for you! Thanks for clicking on this and taking a read.
You know what time it is now, don’t you? It’s time for my end of blog call to action:
Start listening to holiday music! It’s never too early.
It might not be 30+ degrees, but remember to drink water and stay hydrated!
Get out your cozy clothes!
Fun, right? See you in December,
