FD AUCTION!
Welcome to the 2025 Firecracker Department Fundraising Auction!
From Podcast to Powerhouse
What started as a simple podcast in 2017 has ignited into a creative movement. When Actor/Improvisor/Creative Bad-Ass Naomi Snieckus launched the Firecracker Department Podcast, she had one clear mission: to amplify the voices of female and non-binary artists. That vision struck a chord, resonating with listeners and sparking meaningful conversations across the creative community.
But Naomi didn't stop at listening. She asked the crucial question: "How can we go beyond conversation and help people take action?"
The answer has been extraordinary growth. Today, the Firecracker Department is a thriving platform that hosts monthly Comedy Cafés, frequent scriptwriting and creativity workshops, and three Fall Film Fest Brunches across Canada each September. We celebrate the remarkable artists in our community through two prestigious awards—The Blaze Award and The Trailblazer—recognizing those who light the way for others.
Behind every program, event, and initiative is a massive network of people power, energy, and heart. This community of creators and supporters makes everything we do possible!
Your Impact Through This Auction
Every donation made through this silent auction directly fuels our mission. Your contributions support:
Operational costs that keep our programming accessible and impactful
Scholarships that remove barriers and open doors for emerging creators
Content creation that amplifies even more Firecracker voices
But we believe in supporting the community beyond our own walls. As a community that champions community, a portion of the proceeds will benefitThe Shoebox Project for Women—an incredible Canadian charity supporting women experiencing or at-risk-of homelessness. They celebrate diversity, build awareness, challenge stigma, and promote equity, working toward a vision where all women are seen, valued, and treated with dignity and compassion.
