1. Is Firecracker Department for me?

Yes! Firecracker is for women and gender-diverse creatives in film, TV, writing, comedy, and the arts who are looking to grow, connect, and create. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, you're welcome here.

2. What kind of programming does Firecracker offer?

We offer workshops, mentorship, live events, and networking opportunities. We also host a podcast, short film screenings, and community brunches during major film festivals like TIFF, CIFF, and VIFF.

3. Is there a cost to join or participate?

No membership fee! Some of our programming is free or pay-what-you-can. Our events and shows, like ticketed brunches or comedy cafés, have a cost to attend, but we strive to keep everything accessible and community-driven.

4. Do I have to live in a chapter city to get involved?

Nope! While we have active chapters in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and Los Angeles, many of our events, workshops, and programs are offered online and are open to creatives around the world.

5. Can I join more than one chapter?

Yes! You're welcome to connect with multiple chapters or attend events in any city. Each chapter has its own local flavor, but we’re all part of the same Firecracker family.

6. What kind of artists are part of the community?

We’re home to filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, comedians, visual artists, musicians, producers, directors, and creators of all kinds. If you identify as creative, you'll fit right in.
