BAGGED

A comedy television series coming soon to Bell Fibe TV1

Welcome to Bagged

A quirky, heartfelt comedy series where a plastic bag links the lives of women and non-binary people navigating the chaos of modern life.

Each episode is a self-contained story—funny, poignant, and visually vibrant—following a new protagonist as they wrestle with relationships, identity, and the environment.

From a factory worker dreaming of escape to a cashier caught between lovers, Bagged reveals the beauty and absurdity in everyday moments. And through it all? One plastic bag on its own epic, hilarious journey.

Created by Liesl Lafferty and Naomi Snieckus, Bagged is more than a series—it’s a mentorship-powered celebration of underrepresented voices, shot across small towns with big heart.

Think High Maintenance meets Wes Anderson, with a twist of environmental satire.

Did you know that in 2024, women directed only 16% of the top 250 highest-grossing films? This statistic underscores the persistent gender disparity in the film industry, highlighting the need for initiatives that support and amplify female and non-binary voices in filmmaking.

Each episode of Bagged is written and directed by a female or non-binary artist, each paired with a female or non-binary mentee. This mentorship model not only supports emerging talent but builds a pipeline for the next generation of creators. It's storytelling that nurtures both voices and vision.

Shot across a patchwork of Ontario towns—from the industrial textures of Brockville to the rugged beauty of Bancroft, and the tranquil charm of Cobourg and Cornwall—Bagged is as much a love letter to local landscapes as it is to human complexity. By collaborating with local cast and crew in each area, the series becomes rooted in place, building strong creative communities while capturing the rich diversity of our province.
